Stand up a single ESXi host, create a VM, and understand the virtual switch you just created.

Who it is for

Admins entering vSphere with a nested lab or a spare server.

You should already know

Hardware that is on the HCL (or a nested ESXi lab) and a workstation ISO.

You will be able to

  • Install ESXi and reach the DCUI / host client
  • Create a VM with a virtual disk and NIC
  • Explain a standard vSwitch and port group
